Rule 127
Mandatory vacation

(1) The following police personnel will be automatically relieved from government service on any of the following grounds:
(a) If the police personnel holding the following posts reach the age as follows:-
(1) Inspector General of Police – 58 years
(2) Additional Inspector General of Police or Deputy Inspector General of Police – 56 years
(3) Senior Superintendent of Police or Superintendent of Police – 55 years
(4) Deputy Superintendent of Police – 54 years
(5) Inspector of Police – 53 years
(6) Senior Deputy Inspector of Police or Deputy Inspector of Police – 52 years
(7) Assistant Inspector of Police – 51 years
(8) Senior Constable of Police, Constable of Police, Assistant Constable of Police or Constable of Police – 48 years
(9) Police Office Assistant – 55 years
(b) Police personnel holding the following posts for the following period on the basis of payment of that period:-
(1) Inspector General of Police – 4 years
(2) Additional Inspector General of Police/Deputy Inspector General of Police – 5 years
(3) Senior Superintendent of Police – 6 years
(4) Superintendent of Police – 10 years. But if the term of employment is applicable to the lower position, if there is no promotion to the position with permanent tenure, the term of the lower position will be applied.
(c) Notwithstanding anything contained in Clause (a), if the following police technical personnel working in the Technical Police Group attain the age as under:-
(1) Gazetted Class II and above – 58 years
(2) Gazetted Third Class – 56 years
(3) Gazetted first, second and third class – 54 years
(d) Completion of thirty years employment period.
(2) For the purposes of this rule, the age of police personnel shall be calculated as follows:-
(a) The date of birth in the certificate of citizenship, certificate of educational qualification and personal details (CITroll) submitted by him at the time of entering the service and if there is not the same date in all of them, on the basis of the date from which the vacancy occurs first,
(b) Year or Samvat onlyWhen determining the date of birth on the basis of the certificate mentioned, the date of receipt of the certificate in the case of the certificate of citizenship, the date of issuance of the certificate in the case of the certificate of educational qualification and the date of initial enrollment in the case of the personal record (citrol),
(c) If only the year is mentioned in a certificate and the full date of birth is disclosed in another certificate and if there is a gap of one year between the dates of birth mentioned in such certificate, on the basis of the fully disclosed date of birth. However, if the difference between the dates of birth mentioned in the separate certificates is more than one year, the date of birth will be established according to sub-section (b) on the basis of the certificate which only mentions the year.
(3) In the case of a police employee who was appointed to the police service before the date 2049.11.15 and retires according to clause (a) or (d) of sub-rule (1), the age remaining for retirement according to the police regulations in force at the time of his appointment 6. The pension he will get will be calculated by adding to the total employment period during that period.
